Paris was under several inches of snow; all taxis were cancelled; Wellington boots were spotted on the streets - what better backdrop for the spring/summer 2013 couture shows?
Fortunately, designers (like the Gods) make the weather and white was ubiquitous on the catwalk, from Chanel's enchanted forrest in the Grand Palais to Dior's undulating garden in the Tuileries.
At Stephane Rolland white was architectural; at Versace, it was Valley of the Dolls Grecian; and at Valentino (for many, the show of the week) it was the pinnacle of refinement.
Brides favour white of course, as do nuns. Expect starlets and billionaire's wives to join them before the world fades back to black.
